Cartocuts map design tool is definitely best used in conjunction with a large monitor but in some cases the size of the map when the dimensions are entered is larger than the screen its been designed on and this can make it awkward to work with.
The first tip for making this easier is to use the browser zoom tool - this is usually triggered by using the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl/Command + and Ctrl/Command - . This zooms the entire screen and not just the map and can be used to get a good preview for a larger map.
The second tip for working on a smaller laptop or screen is to use the hamburger menu on the settings bar to collapse it while you set up your crop and zoom level at the desired dimensions.
